Our mobile wood-fired Barrel Sauna brings a beloved Nordic tradition to Switzerland, where the wild beauty of Ticino's most stunning landscapes provides a perfect sanctuary for the ritual of sauna.
With our holistic approach to contrast therapy — combining the gentle heat of sauna with the coolness of fresh water — you’ll discover a simple yet profound way to relax, revitalize and reconnect with yourself, your people and nature's rhythms.
Join our community sauna sessions and pop-up events at various locations in nature, or book the sauna for private rental and we will deliver it to your home, holiday rental or favorite place in nature.

Whether you join for the festival or drop-in for a sauna session, we look forward to welcoming you to our first pop-up sauna event on September 12 & 13.

the sauna

Our sauna holds up to 8 people. We heat the sauna to 65 - 90 degrees Celsius.

We lightly clean the sauna after each session and deep clean at the end of each day.

The freshwater option at each sauna session depends on the location and resources available -- lake, river, plunge tub or shower.
what to expect

We provide a changing area and place to leave your belongings; please bring only what you need and do not bring valuables.

Several enhancements can be added when you book including massage, guided rituals, aromatic infusions and sauna kits.

Phones and cameras are not permitted in any communal spaces, including the sauna.

Hydrate well and eat a light snack before arriving.

Arrive early to allow time for check-in and changing.

Unless specified as a textile-free session, please wear a swimsuit or sauna kilt.

Bring water, swimsuit or sauna kilt, 2 towels and, optionally, flip flops. If needed, you can rent towels.

At TISAUNA, we celebrate living well and in harmony with nature through our love for sauna. Our name evokes our mission: to integrate the Nordic tradition of sauna culture in Ticino's wellness community through a mobile, self-sufficient, wood-fired sauna experience that is off-grid, low-impact and deeply restorative.
Together, we are making an authentic, holistic practice of sauna accessible in the natural spaces of Ticino -- creating moments of community, stillness, and somatic renewal season after season. We know that sweating together is one of the oldest medicines, and that nature is our true sanctuary.

TISAUNA brings the things, places, and people we love together. We're into sauna and wellness, enjoying nature, and gathering with people. We want to share our passions with our local community in Ticino and invite visitors to experience our home in an unforgettable way.
Courtenay mastain
Courtenay's passion for wellness and love of Ticino's epic nature got a major boost when she discovered sauna and wild swimming. As a Circle Facilitator and Yoga teacher, her warm, caring and authentic way brings people together through transformative journeys grounded in everyday living. Courtenay curates TISAUNA's offerings, oversees communications including the website and social media, handles bookings, press and events. Courtenay speaks English & Italian.
Stefan Tille
Stefan values quiet and contemplative time -- for him the sauna is a sanctuary from the hectic world. As a meditation guide, qi gong teacher and coach, Stefan cuts through the surface to reveal truth and supports people to integrate that wisdom into daily life. His creative and technical skills are a key asset for TISAUNA -- he built the sauna, with a little help from some friends, crafted our amazing sauna hats, and handles the heavy stuff and all things sauna. Stefan speaks German & English.
